AI Processing and Data Usage
Data processed by OpenCultureBot for moderation is NOT used to train AI models, in accordance with Slack's data policies.
AI Moderation and Accuracy
OpenCultureBot uses AI moderation powered by OpenAI GPT-4. Important information about our AI processing:
AI processing only occurs if the user explicitly opts in
Messages are analyzed solely for moderation purposes
Data is not used to train AI models
AI-generated moderation decisions may not always be accurate. Users should review flagged content where necessary
OpenAI retains inputs for up to 30 days for abuse detection
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
OpenCultureBot strictly adheres to Slack’s privacy model. It does not grant users access to messages, files, or channels that they would not otherwise have access to within Slack.

Message content that is explicitly submitted for moderation

Slack user IDs, workspace IDs, and channel IDs that are necessary to provide app functionality within Slack.

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

OpenCultureBot strictly adheres to Slack's privacy policies:
We do not store, export, or back up Slack messages beyond their intended use
We do not allow unauthorized access to private Slack channels or messages
We do not manually map Slack users to external accounts
Authentication is performed exclusively through Slack OAuth 2.0
We do not bypass Slack's privacy controls
We do not expose private channel names or membership lists

Retention of Your Personal Data
OpenCultureBot follows strict data retention policies for different types of data:
User-provided data
Slack OAuth information and messages submitted for moderation are deleted within 14 days of uninstallation
All personal data is permanently erased within 7 days upon user request
Users can request the deletion of their data at any time by emailing us at support@openculturebot.com.
AI-processed data
OpenAI retains inputs for up to 30 days for abuse detection
Usage Data
Analytics and device metadata are retained for internal analysis
Deleted within 90 days unless required for security purposes
Retained only as necessary to comply with legal obligations
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
Business Transactions
If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. In such cases:
